Red Anemone
Being trained as an architect, I was assigned the job of set design in this award winning work, as well as being the supervisor of rendering and modelling. All the 3D rendering was done in modo, with multiple buffers to be composed later in nuke.
The overall look, the underwater effect, the animation of street lights, sun light beams, depth blurs, ..., all were done by me, in nuke, following a 32-bit workflow.
To obtain the underwater effect, I had to export the 3D models and cameras, from modo to nuke via nuke's FBX support. Also, I heavily used normal buffers with my proprietary python scripts, for relighting the scene to get the desired mood. All the rim lights have been added in nuke, using this technique.
